JAMMU, May 31: Royal Cricket Club defeated Balgotra Cricket Club by a big margin of 81 runs at GGM Science College Hostel ground, Jammu while Chandwan XI trounced Young Star XI by 6 wickets at Police Lines Kathua in the ongoing JKCA District Level Tournament, being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member JKCA at different venues across the State.
At Jammu, winning the toss and batting first, Royal Cricket Club scored 143 runs. Goutam top scored with 37 runs, while Sunny and Varun contributed 13 runs to the total. From Balgotra Club, Nikhil took 4 wickets, while Gulshan and Karan claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Balgotra Cricket Club bundled out for a paltry total of 62 runs, thus lost the match by 81 runs. From Royal Cricket Club, Varun was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 5 important wickets, while Sunny took 3 wickets. Varun was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
At Kathua, Young Star XI scored 213 runs in 34.5 overs. Ashu, Raman and Mannu contributed 41, 31 and 29 runs to the total respectively. From Chandwan XI, Mukesh took 5 wickets, while Shubham claimed 2.
In reply, Chandwan XI chased the target in 30.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Kaif (56) and Ayush (53) were the main scorers. Mukesh was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Dayal Singh, Vijay Raina, Ashok Singh, Jatinder Singh, Dheeraj, Yaseen and Manmohan Singh.
