JAMMU, June 3: The residents of RK Vihar Udheywala are up in arms against Power Development Department (PDD).
The residents said that PDD is imposing long duration power cuts in their areas during the ongoing summer season.
“The mercury is touching 44 degree Celsius and it is almost impossible for us to live without power”, they said, adding that due to long duration power cuts, they area also facing scarcity of drinking water.
They further said that the most of the sufferers of the power cuts are old age persons and kids, adding that despite repeated requests, PDD has turned blind eye towards our demand of providing round the clock power supply in the ongoing hot weather conditions.
“If PDD failed to provide regular power supply in our area, then we will come on road and will protest in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident, the District Administration and PDD will be responsible”, the residents warned.
The residents also appealed to Governor to look into the issue and redress it on priority so as to provide succor to them especially old age persons.
