Rajesh lambasts PDD for frequent power cuts

JAMMU, June 4: Lambasting Jammu’s Power Development Department (PDD) for frequent power cuts National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) State president, Rajesh Gupta has sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik to ensure relief for the people.
“The day temperature in Jammu has touched 45 degrees and the PDD is sleeping even as the region faces a major power crisis,” he added. Calling the PDD as the worst performing department, Gupta accused the officials of the department of being apathetic to the miseries of the consumers.
Rajesh Gupta further alleged that for the last few days, Jammu city and its other major towns like Akhnoor, Khour, Jourian, RS Pura, Bishnah, Vijaypur, Nagrota, Bari Brahamana besides Samba and Kathua districts and its towns like Billawar, Basohli, Hiranagar, Ghagwal, Lakhanpur etc are facing worst kind of power crisis.
For hours together, the forced shut down is being imposed on the consumers which are torturous during this peak scorching hot summer days. Even during night hours, there is no power for hours together and people are spending sleepless nights these days. He urged the Governor to pull up the PDD in order to ensure regular supply of electricity in the region.
