JAMMU, June 6: Director Industries and Commerce Anu Malhotra visited Industrial Estate Akhnoor and listened to the grievances of the entrepreneurs.
She was accompanied by General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) Navarata Dogra, Joint Director Suresh Sharma, Assistant Director Mohinder Sharma, officials of J&K State Industries Corporation (SICOP) and General Manager Estate Rajesh Pandoh.
Lakhbir Singh President of Akhnoor Industries Association and members of association discussed all issues pertaining to industrial units status. They also took the team around the Estate and showed the present status of Industrial units in the Estate. Some units are non operational and languishing since long and some are having partial construction and leftover.
President requested Director to issue notice to the allottees for termination of their industrial unit licence so that the same may be allotted to unemployed youths of Akhnoor to start their ventures.
Director Anu Malhotra told the association that Government has issued new guidelines to start new units and have included the service sector also in the industry with all incentives. She asked the President Singh to organize the seminar shortly to make entrepreneurs aware of new indusial policy.
President requested to provide two peons in the estate, construction of damaged compound wall, erection of new sign gate on main road, renovation of office and peon room, take trespassers to task review lease deeds of units for further period.
Director assured that she would provide all necessary infrastructures in the industry area and Industrial estate Akhnoor will be treated as Rural Estate and will be developed on modern ground. She further ensured that the new pending cases would also be considered for immediate allotment of land so that more employment avenues are created for unemployed youths in Akhnoor Industrial Estate.
