UDHAMPUR, June 28: Demanding security for them and also strict action against the culprits who had allegedly assaulted Sarpanch Nili Nalla during the Back to Village Programme on June 25, a deputation of Panchs and Sarpanchs held a protest demonstration outside the office of SSP Udhampur, here today.
The protesting Panchs and Sarpanchs, led by social activist, Advocate Sanjeet Baboria, raised slogans in support of their demand and sought immediate action over their concern.
They also called on DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and SSP Udhampur, who assured necessary action and directed the concerned SHO to register FIR in the case.
The delegation comprised of Sarpanch Sushma Devi, Darshana Devi, Veena Kumari, Anuradha Rita Devi, Irshad Ahmed, Hans Raj and others.
