Power supply to remain affected today

JAMMU, June 29: Power supply to several areas in Jammu city and its outskirts shall remain affected tomorrow because of some technical fault in one of the transmission lines from Salal Power House to Gladni Grid Station.
The affected areas shall be Old Jammu City, New Plot, Janipur, Roop Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat, Bathindi, Sainik Colony, Kalakote and it’s adjoining areas.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Jammu, Conductor of one of the two 220KV Transmission lines from Salal Power House to Gladni Grid Station, Jammu, snapped near Salal on 29/6/19 afternoon. With the result, there will be a shortfall of 200 MVA power supply at 710 MVA, 220/132/33 KV Grid Station Gladni.
As per officials of M/s Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, which owns and maintains this line, this line shall be restored by 30/6/19 evening and therefore, during the period of outage of this line, the power supply of areas fed from Grid Station Gladni shall be subject to rotational curtailment, the statement added.
