JAMMU, Mar 1:The Government today said the Centre has given a nod for connecting 1,100 habitations with road networks under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) in the State.
“Recently the Central Government has given nod for connecting 1,100 habitations under PMGSY in the state,” Minister for Roads and Buildings Abdul Majid Wani said in reply to a question by National Conference’s Javid Ahmad Rana regarding road connectivity in Poonch.
“Road connectivity in hilly and remote areas has been given top priority by the Government,” he said.
The Government also informed the house that in the current fiscal it has allocated a sum of Rs 562.24 lakh to Leh and Kargil districts under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), while Kashmir division received a sum of Rs 10,946 lakh.
To another question raised by Naresh Kumar Gupta during the Zero Hour, Khan said that the Government has recently appointed 136 doctors under NRHM to address the shortage of doctors in the hospitals especially in far-flung areas of the State. (AGENCIES)
