SAMBA, July 2: Samba police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 5.5 gm of Heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
A police party of Police Post, (PP) Supwal headed by SI Sandeep Singh Chib, incharge of PP under the supervision of Inspector, Shiv Dev Singh, SHO Samba & Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Headquarters, Samba while on patrolling duty in Supwal area intercepted an Auto without Registration Number at Nankey Chack, Supwal, Samba.
During checking of the vehicle, 5.5 gm of Heroin (Chitta) was recovered from the pocket of accused which he had wrapped it in white coloured polythene. The accused person was identified as Iqbal Hussain, S/o Yousaf R/o Manohar Gopala, Samba. He was arrested and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 139/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
Police said it has launched a constant drive against the drug peddlers in the district under the chairmanship of SSP Samba Dr Koshal Sharma.
