SRINAGAR, July 19: Jammu and Kashmir Police today paid rich tributes to a Constable, who was martyred in a militant attack in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

A police spokesperson said that all ranks of police personnel, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and civil administration officers, paid floral tribute to Selection Grade Constable Farooq Ahmad at a wreath-laying ceremony at District Police Line (DPL) Anantnag today.
“Senior police officers, including Inspector General, Kashmir range, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir range, SSP Anantnag and other police officers laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid rich tributes to the martyr for the supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty,” he said
Ahmad, a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Sajad Mufti was today shot dead outside a mosque by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag.
Constable Ahmad’s family is survived by old aged father, brother, wife, 12 year-old son Mohsin Farooq, 7-year-old son Faisal Farooq and 2-year-old son Zaid Farooq, he said.
“We pay our rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. We stand by his family at this crucial juncture,” he added.
