RAMBAN, July 19: A missing man was found murdered, while the accused has been arrested.
As per police sources, a man identified as Ghulam Rasool Wani, son of Shamas Din Wani of Tethar, Tehsil Banihal went missing on July 11 this year from Jungle Gali area of Tikri in District Udhampur and accordingly a missing report was lodged at Police Post Tikri.
Police team recovered the dead body of the missing man from higher reaches of Tikri and accused identified as Ashiq Ali, a resident of Tikri, District Udhampur has been arrested.
Further investigation into the case registered with Udhampur Police Station is going on to ascertain the reason behind the murder.
Earlier, the protestors including family members and relatives demanding to know the whereabouts of Ghulam Rasool Wani blocked the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Banihal belt, leading to traffic snarls.
The blockade was lifted over the administration’s assurance that the matter will be probed.
