Workshop on “Aakash Android Application Programming” held at SMVDU

JAMMU, Mar 3: ‘Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University’ is the first University in J&K to become the Remote Centre of IIT Bombay Project “Eklavya” under National Mission on Information and Communication Technologies.
A 4 day student workshop on “Aakash Android Application Programming” was organized at SMVDU with IIT Bombay under Aakash Research and Development Project. The unique feature of the workshop was that the speakers were not physically present and the lectures were delivered through live broadcasting from IIT Bombay using theA-view (Virtual Classroom Software). The Lab-cum -Query Session for the participants was organized in which the participants interacted with speakers in real time.
Dr Naveen Kumar Gondhi, Aakash Coordinator & Director I/c, Network Centre, SMVDU inaugurated the workshop.
The topics covered in the workshop includes Introduction to Android Apps Programming, setting up Eclipse for Android Software Development, Android Building Blocks, Layouts and UI Control, Android Application Resources, Introduction to Animation and Graphics, Data Storage, Web Application Development, Publishing the web application on Android Application.
With lot of enthusiasm, this workshop was attended by students and faculty members, technical staff of SCSE & network Centre.
