UDHAMPUR, July 22: In a bid to provide platform and explore the singing talent of the youth, Range Police Headquarters Udhampur under the supervision of Sujit Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police organized ‘Chhoona Hai Aasman’ Season 6th under Civic Action Programme 2019-20 of J&K Police at Auditorium Hall SKPA, here.
On the occasion, Dr SD Singh, Director SKPA Udhampur was the chief guest and Dr Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur was the guest of honour.
“Choona Hai Aasman” is musical talent hunt competition, a flagship talent hunt programme of J&K Police. It was started in 2010 with the view to provide a platform and direction to the untapped talent of the youth of the Range.
“The winners of all the 3 categories of district Udhampur and Reasi are called at the Range Level to compete for the title “Choona Hai Aasman”. Those selected in the Ranges then compete at the Zone level for the best three slots in junior and senior categories and then progress to the finals,”.
Out of 21 participants, who were after rounds of auditions, at Range Level, 9 were selected by the jury, 3 each in 3 categories.
The participants selected in “A” category (age from 5 to 12 years), Ist prize went to Aaradhya Sharma, 2nd prize to Tanvi and 3rd prize went to Akshay Kumar.
The participants selected in “B” category (age from 13 to 18 years) in which 1st prize went to Raghujeet Singh., 2nd prize was bagged by Sahil Mehra and the 3rd prize went to Aarahi Kalas.
In third category “C” (age from 19 to 25 yrs), the 1st prize went to Vaishali Prajapati, the 2nd position was bagged by Rohit Kumar and the 3rd position was claimed by Jail Singh.
All the 9 participants selected by the jury were given cash prizes alongwith the certificate of merit.
A large number of prominent citizens from district Udhampur, parents of the participants and Senior Officers of J&K Police/Para Military Forces Udhampur & Reasi and Civil Administration Udhampur were also present on the occasion.
