JAMMU, July 23: The Government today ordered that Advisors to the Governor will also function as the Chairpersons of the Governing Body/Board of Directors of the Corporation/Board/Agencies etc which fall under purview of the Departments held by them.
An order to this effect was issued today by the General Administration Department (GAD).
As per the order, all Boards/Corporations/Agencies etc which were headed by the then Ministers as Chairpersons in the Government as per General Clauses (Amendment) Act, 2018, will now be headed by the Advisors Incharge of those Departments in terms of byelaws of the Corporations/Board/Agencies.
It may be mentioned here that the Cabinet Ministers in the popular Government used to be Chairpersons of the Corporations/Boards falling under control of their Departments. The posts of Chairpersons were lying vacant since the fall of PDP-BJP Government on June 19, 2018. The posts now will be filled by the concerned Advisors.
Apart from the Chairpersons, the previous PDP-BJP Government had also appointed nearly 20 political leaders as Vice Chairpersons of the Corporations/Boards.
