UDHAMPUR, July 24: One person was killed and three others of a family were injured when the car, they were travelling in, rolled down near Tikri, here this morning.
The accident took place early in the morning when Alto car bearing registration number JKH02U-9268, which was on its way from Arnas Reasi toward Udhampur, rolled down at Bikhan Gella Tikri resulting into death of one person on the spot and injuries to three others.
The deceased was identified as Deepak (25), son of Kesar of Katra. The injured, who have received multiple injuries, were identified as Keso Devi (65), wife of Shankar Dass, her son Sanjay Kumar (42) and her daughter- in-law his Sunita Devi (35), wife of Sanjay Kumar, all residents of Arnas Reasi.
They were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for treatment while dead body of the deceased was handed over to his family members after post mortem.
Meanwhile, a truck driver, identified as Balveer Singh (30), son of Sudagar Singh of Tutey Di Khui Jammu, was found dead on roadside at Salora Mand, under mysterious circumstances.
The body was spotted by some locals who informed the Rehambal Police Station. Police took the dead body in its custody and then shifted the same to PHC Tikri for postmortem. After completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members for the last rites.
A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
