JAMMU, July 27: Natrang’s Children Weekend Club was inaugurated at Natrang Studio Theatre with the lighting of traditional lamp by Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur, here today.
This is going to be a unique platform for children where they will get immense opportunities to explore their inner abilities.
Speaking on the occasion Balwant Thakur said that Jammuites should feel fortunate that after National School of Drama, New Delhi it is only Natrang which provides such rare opportunities for children in North India.
The entire programme and the activities calendar have been /conceptualized/devised with the help of top International level experts of children theatre and creativity practitioners.
While speaking about the emerging trends, Balwant Thakur said that today well exposed parents are realizing how theatre is important for a child’s development.
He said it is just as important to immerse children in creative activities that exercise the right brain, as it is to immerse them in scientific and analytic activities for the left-brain.
If children are exposed to additional performing arts, they will be working towards more effective thought processes.
Performing arts teach children how to think creatively through imagination. Creative skills are one of the most important skills needed to be successful in any sphere of life.
