BUDGAM, July 29: District Ganderbal lifted Under-17 Boys Tennis Cricket championship by defeating District Srinagar in the title clash, while the host District Budgam won the 3rd place in the Inter District Divisional Level Tennis Cricket Championship which concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Championship was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Budgam.
The officers of the department witnessed the Championship and distributed medals among the winners and runners-up teams.
The organisers said that they have requested Joint Director Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad to conduct at least 10 days coaching camp for the  selected players.
The girls under-17 and under-19 events will begin tomorrow at same venue. The tournament will be played on league cum knock out basis
Meanwhile, as per annual calendar of activities of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the selection trials in the disciplines of Cricket Under-19 Boys District Poonch were held today at BHSS Ground Poonch.
Sixty players from Poonch, Mandi, Surankote and Bufliaz participated in the trials.
The trails are being organised by District Youth Services and Sports Office Poonch.
The selected players will go through coaching camp for further participation at Divisional Level Inter District Tournament.
The Inter School District level competitions of District Samba for boys under the age group of 19 years are being held at Nonath Asharm Ghagwal under the supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Samba and venue incharge, Ganesh Dass.
The gold medal winners in 200 mts Free style, 50 mts Free style, 100 mts Butterfly, 100mts Free style, 100 mts Back Stroke and 500 Mts Free Style were Mohit Sharma of HSS Ghagwal, Akash Sharma of HSS Ghagwal, Akash Sharma of HSS Ghagwal, Anuj Kumar of HSS Ghagwal, Nikhal Sharma of UPS Jatwal and Pankaj Sharma of HSS Ghagwal respectively.
