JKFA Annual League Football Tournament

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: J&K Bank Academy defeated AG’s XI by two goals to one (2-1) in the Premier Division match of the ongoing JKFA Annual League Football Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association at Synthetic Turf, TRC here.
The match started with a thrilling note with J&K Bank Academy dominating the early proceedings by creating chances which resulted in earning a goal during 4th minute of the match.
The goal was scored by Sahil Bashir for J&K Bank Academy.
In the 12th minute of 1st half, Sajid of J&K Bank Academy scored another goal for his team. AG’s XI were equally strong to repulse further attacks from the academy boys and tried to consolidate. The half time score was (2-0) in favour of J&K Bank academy.
In the second half, there was a neck to neck play and the strong defence line of Academy boys became an obstacle for AG’s XI forwards, who could not score. AG’s XI were awarded a penalty kick for a gross offence, but were unfortunate enough not to find the net.
In the dying minutes of the second half AG’s XI made a brilliant move and Khalid scored a fantastic goal. AG’S XI tried hard to equalize the score but failed in their attempt, thus J&K Bank Academy won by (2-1) goals.
Earlier, the 1st match of Super Division was played between J&K SRTC XI and Jhelum Sports in which Jhelum Sports defeated J&K SRTC XI by two goals to one (2-1).
The tournament is being organized by District Football Association Srinagar, Medical Partner Rahim Green & Football Sponsor Sports International (VECTOR).
