Baby, Saransh emerge champions in ‘Run For My Country’ Marathon

HIRANAGAR, Aug 11: Baby Devi won gold medal in the women’s section, while Saransh Verma emerged champion in the men’s section in the ‘Run For My Country’ Marathon, organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports GLDM Degree College, here.
The Run was flagged off by Convenor IQAC.
While in women’s section, Baby Devi clinched gold, Sukanya bagged silver and Pooja claimed bronze.
In men’s section, the Race was won by Saransh Verma, thus he bagged gold medal, while Arun Sharma clinched silver and Mohit Sharma won bronze medal.
Vice Principal of the College, Prof Daya Vilas Sharma along with all the faculty members distributed medals among the winners of the event.
Prof Purfluit Bambroo and Physical Director, Prof Vikram Singh and other faculty members of the College were present on the occasion.
More than 70 male and female athletes participated in this event.
The purpose of the Marathon was to celebrate 73rd Independence Year of our Country and sending a message to develop physical, mental and social culture among the youth of Hiranagar.
