Aggrieved land owner seeks compensation at current market rate

Jammu, Aug 17: An old-age widow lady has sought action against Tehsildar Jammu, Patwari and Girdawar of not initiating action for providing compensation of allegedly encroached her land.
“I prayed for the compensation at current market rate in accordance with provisions of Land Acquisition Act for occupation and use of land measuring 08 marlas comprising Khasra No. 18, 19 and 20, Khewat No.1 situated at Gurha Shabilian, Jammu,” said Subadra Devi, wife of Late Krishan Singh, resident of Gurah Chabilian.
“I am owner of land measuring 08 marlas comprising Khasra No. 18, 19 and 20, Khewat No.I situated at Gurha Shabilian, Jammu and Jammu Municipal Corporation have laid tiles on the proprietary land,” she said adding that she approached the Jammu Municipal Corporation for the removal of the tiles as the land is exclusively owned and possessed by her.
“The Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Municipal Corporation, Jammu, in pursuance of the representation filed by her has directed the Tehsildar Jammu on December 12, 2018 to demarcate the land under reference and furnish the detailed report, but neither demarcation has been made nor any action has been taken for removal of the tiles,” she alleged.
She said Court also gave a direction to the Tehsildar, Jammu to consider her case for demarcation of the land under reference as per rules and regulations governing the matter and furnish report to the Assistant Commissioner (Rev) but nothing has been done till date.
“My plot was covered with tiles by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and later I am move towards the Court for removal of tiles from my plot,” she said adding that after court decision of demarcation of land, municipal officers had not taken any action till date.
“We also met Patwari and Girdawar but they also refused to listen to  our issue,” she said and appealed to Government Satyal Pal Malik  to look into her matter and provide her justice.
