Prakul, Amit, Shiv emerge winners in U-19; Samba wins Cricket title in girls category

JAMMU, Aug 27: Department of Youth Services and Sports organized Inter Zone and School Level Competitions in Jammu, Samba, Udhampur and Kathua districts.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competition in the age group of U-14, 17 and 19 boys were held at different venues here.
About 750 participants in Athletics drawn from all the Zones of District Jammu are participating in the competition.
In U-19 3000 meters (final), Prakul of BSF Paloura, Amit of GHSS Karaha and Shiv Kumar of GHSS Mandal bagged first, second and third positions respectively, while in U17 category, Sarfraz of Sainik School Nagrota, Rishipal Chib of GHSS Gandhi Nagar and Rajinder Kumar of GHS Burj Mandir secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 Discus Throw (final), Sadiq of GBHS Simbal Camp, Mohinder Singh of GHS Phallian Mandal and Shafaqat Ali of Sainik School Nagrota clinched first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-17 category, Sunny Deol of Sainik School Nagrota, Shahid Sheikh of BSF Paloura and Raman Kumar of GHS Sohanjana bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In U-19 category, Mukhtiar Ali of GHSS Bishnah, Roshan Singh of MHAC Nagbani and Banu Sharma of Banyan International secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 200 meters (final), Sagar Singh of MHAC Nagbani, Himanshu of Sainik School Nagrota and Manish of BSF Paloura bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-17 category, Nikhil of APS Domana and Sayiam Soni of MVM School bagged first and second positions respectively. In U-19 category, Randeep Singh of MHAC Nagbani, Pratham Balgotra of Air Force School and Sandeep Dogra of BSF Paloura bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 Long Jump (final), Raghu pal Singh of Sainik School Nagrota and Kishan Sharma of GHS Deoli bagged first and third positions respectively, whereas in U-17 category, Abhijeet Singh of MHAC Nagbani, Aman Yadav of Sainik School Nagrota and Anas Khan of GHS Bansultan bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-11 Roller Skating at MA Stadium (Quads 500 meters), Dhruv Sharma, Vivan Gupta and Punish Puri clinched first, second and third positions respectively, while in U-11 inline 500 meters, Medash Sharma, Lakshveer Singh and Muneet Chambyal, in U-14 Quads 500 meters, Rajveer, Sammer Jyoti and Mayank bagged first, second and third positions respectively, in U-17 inline 500 meters, Rythem Gupta, Anirudh and Jaypreet clinched first, second and third positions respectively, in U-19 Quads 500 meters, Vathal Gupta, Shubham Sharma and Gourav Kumar bagged first, second and third positions respectively and in U-19 inline 500 meters, Raghav Gupta, Jaidev Singh and Dhruv Gandotra clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-19 Cricket at Mini Stadium Parade, Zone Gandhi Nagar-Satwari beat Zone Akhnoor-Chowki Choura by 90 runs.
SAMBA: Department of Youth Services and Sports organized Inter Zone District Level U-19 boys and girls Cricket Tournament at Suchet Singh Stadium here in which sportspersons from all five zones participated.
In boys, final match played between Samba Zone and Vijaypur Zone was won by the former team, whereas in girls final, Samba Zone defeated Ramgarh Zone.
UDHAMPUR: District Level Inter School Athletic meet for U-14 boys was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports here at Subash Stadium.
As many as 183 Boys drawn from 46 Government as well as private educational institutions of district Udhampur participated in the athletic meet.
In 100 meters, Parvez Ahmed of High School Harthyan stood first, while in 200 meters, Pawan Kumar of High School Badali Rakh secured first position and Manjeet Singh of High School Kalta stood first in 400 meters race. In 600 meters, Rohit Singh of AOC clinched 1st position.
In Long Jump, Saviter Singh of Kalta bagged 1st position while in High Jump Saviter Singh of Kalta bagged first position. In Shotput, Deeraj Singh of Kalta clinched 1st position, whereas in Discus Throw, Deeraj Singh of Kalta stood first. The overall championship was won by Government High School Kalta.
KATHUA: Around 74 girls and boys participated in six events–Hockey, Roll Ball, Painting, Karate, Taekwondo and Cricket organized during Inter Zone Competitions at Sports Stadium Hiranager, DPS Rajbagh, GHSS Girls Kathua and Sports Stadium Kathua.
In Taekwondo at Sports Stadium Kathua (U-51 Kg), Jatin Singh of GHSS Marheen emerged winner, in U-55 Kg, Paras Sharma of Tiny Scholar Kathua emerged winner, in U-59 Kg, Himanshu Singh of RSJN Kathua bagged first position, in U-63 Kg, Nikshit Kandyal of Saint Paul Convent School clinched first position, in U-68 Kg, Vansh Lakhotra of RSJN Kathua emerged winner, in U-73 Kg, Mangal Singh of Rose Public Sanjhi Morh emerged winner, in U-78 Kg, Parnav Sharma of Little Angel Kathua emerged winner and in above 78 Kg, Tarun Sharma of RSJN Kathua emerged winner.
In Karate at Sports Stadium Kathua (U-51 Kg), Sushil Singh Amar of National HSS Merdoon emerged winner, in U-54 Kg, Subham Mehra of KPS Barnoti emerged winner, in U-58 Kg, Jashan Deep Singh of KPS Barnoti emerged winner, in U-62 Kg, Sanjay Kumar of Saint Paul Convent School Haripur emerged winner, in U-66 Kg, Nadeem Shaikh of BPS Bilawar emerged winner, in U-70 Kg, Ansh Sharma of Spring Dales Kathua emerged winner, in U-82 Kg, Sushil Kumar of KPS Barnoti emerged winner and in above 82 Kg, Aryan of Little Angel School Kathua emerged winner.
In Hockey at Sports Stadium Hiranager, 16 players selected for next level, whereas in Roll Ball at DPS Rajbagh, 8 boys and 6 girls were selected for next level.
In Painting Competition at GHSS Girls Kathua, all the boys and girls in U-14, 17 and 19 categories made best paintings by colouring the theme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ on white papers.
In Cricket at Sports Stadium Kathua, Zone Kathua registered win over Hiranagar Zone by 8 wickets and lifted the title trophy. Earlier, Zone Hiranagar defeated Zone Mahanpur by 12 runs in the first semis. Rahul of Hiranagar Zone was the top scorer with 53 runs. In second semifinal, Kathua Zone registered win over Lakhanpur Zone by 8 wickets. Lakshya of Kathua Zone scored 32 runs and Rishabh Bhargav clinched 2 wickets by giving 6 runs.
