JAMMU, Aug 30: Commissioner/ Secretary PDD, Hirdesh Kumar, today convened a meeting to review the status of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in power sector including DDUGJY, IPDS, RGGVY-II and PMDP being implemented in Jammu Region.
Development Commissioner (Power), Secretary (Technical), Director (Finance), Director (Planning), Chief Engineers from EMRE Wing, S&O Wing, Project Wing, P&MM Wing, P&D Wing, C&S Wing, Superintending Engineers of respective circles, Nodal Officer and other senior officers along with CEO, RECPDCL/ RECTPCL, Executive Director PGCIL, General Manager PFC and Chief Project Manager, REC were present in the meeting.
Commissioner/ Secretary had a detailed review of all flagship schemes of PDD being executed in all districts of the region.
While reviewing the progress and the targets, Hirdesh expressed dismay over slow pace of progress on various works being done by the authorized contractors and cautioned them to improve upon their working standards. He also directed the executing agencies engaged in snow bound areas to work in double shifts so that considerable progress is achieved before the onset of winters. He asked the officers to constitute technical committees at District level to address minor issues concerning the projects.
Hirdesh took stock of augmentation works, creation of new sub-stations, laying of new HT/ LT lines, installation of new Distribution Transformers etc under these centrally sponsored schemes. He asked the officers to work hard towards improving power distribution system in the region. In this regard, he asked the engineers to identify and take up the heavily loaded areas first so as to remove the major bottlenecks.
He asked to formulate a proposal to create a dedicated infrastructure for energizing the pump-sets of the farmers especially in the border areas.
Taking cognizance of the dilapidated condition of distribution infrastructure, Hirdesh asked the Engineers to identify all worn-out poles and conductor in the region so that sufficient funds are made available to replace the same on a mission mode for creating robust distribution infra.
He asked PDD officers to adopt proactive approach towards curbing the menace of power pilferage.
Nodal Officer PDD gave power point presentation presenting micro-analysis of works being executed by various Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) as well as individual turnkey contractors (TKCs) under the aforesaid schemes.
