JAMMU, Sept 5: The Government today approved release of Rs 121 crore through BEAMS for undertaking works identified in Panchayat Halqas in respect of demands raised during `Back to Village’ Programme held from June 20 to 27.
The released funds included Rs 5 crore each in favour of the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 1 crore for the Divisional Commissioner Ladakh and Rs 5 crore each to 22 District Development Commissioners in the State.
Rs 1 crore funds released in favour of the Divisional Commissioner Ladakh will be utilized equally (Rs 50 lakh each) through the District Development Commissioners of Leh and Kargil.
Governor Satya Pal Malik had announced these grants recently.
