DODA, Sept 5: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda, Dr. Sagar D Doifode, held public grievance redressal camps here at Chirala and Joda Khurd for on-spot redress of genuine problems faced by the local populace.
The DDC also laid foundation stone of a Tourist Hut at Joda Khurd aimed to promote tourism in the area. Built under Back to Village program, the DDC congratulated the people of Joda for the unique proposal which will stay relevant even for the next 30 years.
The DDC was on a day long tour to the Chirala and Joda Khurd along with a team of officers. Sarpanchs, Panches, prominent civil society members and scores of people participated in the camps.
Locals demanded better road connectivity including blacktopping, replacement of old electric poles, posting of sufficient staff in the health, revenue and rural development departments, assessment of losses caused by the rain to the agriculture and horticulture produce, replacement of worn out water pipes, coverage of left out beneficiaries under PM-KISSAN, SECC and other central schemes, provision of solar lights on subsidy, streamlining of Anganwari centres, payment of pending MGNEREGA wages, establishment of new and upgrading of existing PHCs and receiving station to improve power supply, besides a number of other demands.
The DDC assured to meet genuine demands on priority basis. Regarding several demands, he issued on the spot directions to concerned departments for speedy and prompt redressal.
The DDC briefed the people of respective places about the Back to Village Programme. He said after the successful conduct of the program, the plan has been prioritised and approved accordingly by the district administration.
Concerned health authorities were directed to procure all essential medicines and life saving drugs.
DDC warned the employees against lackluster attitude and asked them to perform their legitimate duties without any fail to avoid strict action.
He enjoined upon Sarpanchs and Panchs to check the Govt offices and attendance of the employees and work in tandem for the overall development of their respective Panchayats.
He directed the officers of key sectors especially Social Welfare Department to conduct regular awareness camps and educate the farmers/general public about the schemes of their departments and technical knowhow.
He also urged the public to take every possible step to save and conserve the water and briefed them about the “Jal Shakti Abhiyan”.
He urged upon the people of Chiralla and Joda Khurd to maintain peace, communal harmony and brotherhood and together participate in development works.
