Samiksha holds Prize Distribution function

JAMMU, Sept 9: Samiksha, Society for Promotion of Inclusive and Sustainable Development, Jammu organized a Prize Distribution function in connection with the Interschool Essay Writing Contest held earlier on the theme ‘Air Pollution’ adopted by UNEP for World Environment Day 2019.
Vikas Sharma, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, J&K Govt was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his inaugural address Mr Sharma congratulated the recipients of awards and appreciated the managements, staff and students of participating schools for their proactive and keen interest in this activity.
In his key note address, Ajay Khajuria, President Samiksha highlighted the articulation with which the student participants of the Contest had drafted their essays.
80 students drawn from Army Public School, Damana, Government Higher Secondary School, Muthi, Abhay Higher Secondary School, Muthi, Indira Sagar Institute of Education and Research, Rajpura Mangotrian and Shining Star High School, Muthi participated in the event.
In her presidential address, S. Kapoor, Vice Principal, Army Public School, Damana highlighted environment friendly activities of schools.
Deeraj Singh Bhau (10th Class) of Army Public School, Damana was awarded the first prize, Mehak Sanjay (10th Class) of Shining Star High School, Muthi, and Sohani Kumari (9th Class) of Abhay Higher Secondary School, Muthi, shared the second prize, while Sonia Sharma (12th Class) of Government Higher Secondary School, Muthi, Bhumika Gupta (9th Class) of Indira Sagar Institute of Education and Research, Rajpura Mangotrian, Jammu were awarded the third prize in the contest. They also shared the students viewpoint on the occasion.
Vanshika Sharma and Sidhi Bhat of Army Public School Damana were presented Dehat Sandesh Environment Award and The Northlines Environment Award respectively. Certificates of participation besides mementos including important medicinal plants were presented by Samiksha and Aatam Avlamban Charitable Trust to participating schools. Aatam Avlamban Charitable Trust, Jammu was represented by its convener Sushil Kumar Bhola and the Daily Dehat Sandesh and the Northlines, Jammu by Journalist Jatin Singh Gill.
