KATHUA Sept 13: In a bid to ensure streamlining of traffic movement in the district, a team headed by Regional Transport Officer, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, today booked and seized four vehicles under section 207 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
The seized vehicles included school buses which were found violating provisions meant for safety and security of school children. The vehicles seized are JK08C-4617, JK08E-4527, JK08A-7136 and JK08D-2469.
One of the vehicles, with registration No. AP31PB-5788 was imposed a fine of Rs. 63000 under sections 113/194 of MV Act and another with registration number RJ09GD-2928 was imposed a fine of Rs. 52000 under sections 113/194 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
Pertinently, a total of 41 vehicles have been booked under various provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 during the last two days, of which, 27 were booked in Billawar by the MVD team during a tour to the area.
The other members of the team included ARTO, Kuldeep Singh, Motor Vehicles Inspector Vikas Srivats, Kamal Kumar and Ravinder Kumar and officials Rasal Singh, Shamsher Singh, Aman Kumar, Rakesh Kumar.
A total of Rs. 5.22 lakh fine has been imposed, so far, during September, 2019.
