JAMMU, Sept 30: A wrestler died due to cardiac arrest during a ‘wrestling competition’ in bordering RS Pura tehsil here.
As per police sources, a wrestler namely Raj Kumar, a resident of Kortana, working as peon in Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) RS Pura felt unconscious during annual wrestling competition at village Kortana Khurd.
He was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) RS Pura, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The wrestler died due to cardiac arrest.
After conducting autopsy today at SDH RS Pura, the body of the wrestler was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC has been initiated by RS Pura Police in this regard.
