REASI, Mar 12: BJP National Executive member and State chief spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh presided over a meeting of party’s district office bearers and Mandal (block) Presidents held here today.
The meeting was convened to review the plans of State-wide protest demonstrations to be held by the party at all the district head quarters on March 14 against mis-governance, rampant corruption and regional discrimination.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh said the time has come to awaken the masses and come out to expose the duplicity of Coalition Government which has put the national interest as well as the State interest at stake simply to hold on to power through appeasement of separatists.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that on the one hand the NC leadership is engaged in competitive upmanship with PDP in the name of Afzal Guru, on the other hand Congress which is a coalition partner is maintaining a convenient silence. Meanwhile, governance has come to a standstill and corruption is on the rise. He also raised questions on the employment policy of Government and referred to rising unemployment in the State and delay in the construction of Reasi-Katra road.
BJP State secretary Kabla Singh said that corruption has crossed all limits in the district administration. He said instead of addressing the people’s problems the district administration officers are busy in making money.
District President, Reasi Ajay Nanda red out the various issues to be raised during the protest.
Senior BJP leader N.D Rajwal said that there was a time when the Governments scared by the name of Reasi because of the uprightness of its people.
State publicity secretary Aseem Gupta appealed that the district leadership of party should make effort to bring out people from the grass root level and workers from the booth level to make the March 14 protest.
The meeting was attended among others by Subash Gupta, Chander Kanta, Sheel Mangotra, Ajay Baru, Joginder Singh and Chaman Lal.
