JAMMU, Oct 16: Panun Kashmir Political Affairs Committee (PKPAC) held its meeting at Jammu today which was chaired by its president Virender Raina. Among others the meeting was attended by Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), Prof. M.L.Raina, advisor, Ashok Chrungoo, S.L. Bhat, P.K. Durani, B.L.Garyali and Sameer Bhat, convener, Panun Kashmir (PK) Youth.
Virender Raina expressed gratitude to RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat for expressing his opinion that “normalcy in Kashmir will be determined only from the fact that Kashmiri Pandits are resettled in Kashmir with due honour and security”. Panun Kashmir also appreciated the concern shown by a number of well wishers of Kashmir and KPs throughout the length and breadth of the country who have expressed their intent to invest in J&K in a couple of months.
He said that Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits are inseparable and Kashmir is also known mostly due to the contributions made by the Kashmiri Pandits. In order to restore calm, order and normalcy on a long term basis, the Hindus of Kashmir need to be resettled in the Valley keeping in view their geo-political aspirations. The model of resettlement as per the Margdarshan resolution of 1991 remains the only way to settle the displaced community.
Prof. M.L.Raina in his address said that with the establishment of the Union Territory of J&K, it is imperative to correct certain historical wrongs which are in vogue for a long time in J&K. Consequent upon the changeover to the new system under UT, since some rules and regulations are under process, Panun Kashmir demands change of KAS to JKAS….(Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Service) and JKPS etc. The name of Radio Kashmir may also be changed to Akashvani-Srinagar and Akashvani-Jammu as is the case with Doordarshan. The state should declare October 31st as the State Day with immediate effect. Panun Kashmir adopted a resolution to this effect in the meeting unanimously.
