CII delegation calls on Advisor, projects issues

JAMMU, Oct 17: A delegation of CII J&K Council called upon Kewal Kumar Sharma, Advisor to Governor and apprised him of the issues being faced by Industrialists.
Led by CII chairman, J&K State Council Rajesh Sharma, the members requested the Advisor to remove the tax anomalies particularly in walnut kernels. The other issues discussed include better industrial package without capping and consider production, turnover of the industrial units to avail incentives, extension of dates for filing all Income Tax and GST return both for audit and Non-audit cases at least to December 31, 2019, hazardous waste dumping ground clearance from Power Development Department, speeding up of release of payment to MSME units under Saubhagya Scheme, extension of Mumbai-Amritsar Freight Corridor up to Kathua, difference in import duty on walnut in shell 110% vs walnuts kernels 33%, to reduce GST rate on almond kernels from 12% to 5% as during pre GST VAT was 0 percent.
He also touched upon the bad condition of Sunjwan-Chowadi Road and requested him to expedite the construction work at a rapid pace for the benefit of the commuters.
KK Sharma gave a patient hearing to all the issues and assured speedy and timely action on the issues highlighted by CII members.
The CII delegation also include Sujiv Jain, Ravnish Gulati, Anshul Gulati, Dr Vijay Kumar Pal and Naresh Kumar.
