JAMMU, Oct 20: The residents are facing problems due to unattended pit on the road.
Due to drainage blockage, a big of size pit was dug on the main road near Sarwal area.
“Now it has been more that 2 weeks that no action has been taken neither by the administration and nor by the Public Works Department (R&B). The Municipal Councillor of Ward Number 18 also failed to get the work of pit completed”, the residents rued.
They alleged that there is no warning board or any barricade near the pit due to which vehicles get damaged due to fall in the pit.
The pit has turned accident prone and the administration is least bothered to get the work of the pit completed. Sometimes, the commuters also suffer injuries due to this pit, the residents added.
Today also a driver had a miraculous escape when his car fell into this pit.
The residents appealed to the concerned authorities to get the work of this pit completed in the shortest possible time so that no untoward incident can take place. They also warned to come on roads if the issue is not sorted out at the earliest.
