UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: Mid-day meal workers in Government Schools today staged a protests demanding hike in the remuneration that they are getting from the School Education Department.
A number of male and female workers, under the supervision of Madan Singh, Udhampur District President of their union, assembled at Gole Market Udhampur and raised slogans against the Department, seeking hike the remuneration and also regularization of their services. .
The Mid-day meal workers are getting a monthly remuneration of Rs 1000 as of now and they were demanded the same to be increased to at least Rs 6000 to 8000. The protesting cooks said that if the Government does not increase their remuneration, Mid-day meal scheme should be closed.
