UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Army Public Schools Basketball Championship 2019-20 commenced here at APS Udhampur, today.
Sanjeev Kumar, Principal APS Udhampur declared the championship open in an impressive and well attended function.
Keeping in line with the tradition, the little champs of APS Udhampur welcomed and extended their heartfelt veneration for all the dignitaries and teams by presenting a welcome song.
Six Army Public Schools, namely APS Srinagar, APS Akhnoor, APS Rakhmuthi, APS Nagrota, APS Dhar Road and the host school APS Udhampur participated in the competition and gave a tough competition to each other on the first day.
APS Dhar Road and APS Udhampur qualified for girls finals and APS Akhnoor and APS Udhampur qualified for boys’ finals.
After a tough fight, both girls and boys’ teams of APS Udhampur bagged the winner’s trophies, thereby once again adding feathers to its cap.
The boys’ team won by 75-22 points, while the girls team won by 20-02 points. Dushyant of APS Udhampur was declared as the ‘Best Player’ in boys’ category and Devika M Nair of APS Udhampur was declared the ‘Best Player’ in girls category.
After distributing the prizes, Sanjeev Kumar, Principal, APS Udhampur in his address, congratulated the winners and motivated other teams for showing sportsman spirit.
