‘Sarbat Da Bhalaa’ Hockey Tounament

JAMMU, Oct 25: Punjab & Sind Bank Hockey Academy will face Punjab and Sind Bank in the title clash of the ongoing ‘Sarbat Da Bhalaa’ Hockey Tournament, being played at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, PSB team defeated PSPCL Ltd Patiala by 3-2 goals in tough contest.
For PSB Geet Kumar scored two goals and Gurmeet netted one goal. Arijeet Singh was adjudged as the man of the match.
Danish Rana IG Armed Police Jammu was the chief guest and Shiv Kumar SSP, Commandant Armed Battalion was the guest of honour in the first match.
In the second semifinal of the tournament was also played at a very fast pace and Punjab Police with number of Olympians were rewarded for their experience which proved better and beat Surjit Hockey Academy with a margin of 3-0. Olympians Dharamveer and Gurvinder Chandi scored one goal each and final goal was scored by Varinder. Depinder singh Captain of Punjab Police was declared as man of the match.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation was the chief guest while Pankaj Mangotra, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Jammu was the guest of honour.
Final match of the tournament is slated to be played tomorrow at 2.30 pm at the same venue.
Some of the prominent who were present in the spectators gallery were Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu, S. Tejinder Singh SSP Jammu and several veterans of Hockey.
Organising Committee of the Tournament also honoured former National Hockey players like S. Padam Dev Singh , S. Netar Singh, Joginder Singh Jinda, Balwant Singh, Vijay Puri on the occasion.
