Different organizations celebrate birth anniversary of Sardar Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

JAMMU, Oct 31: Different organizations today celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
BJP Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh remembered Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his birthday by organizing ‘Run for Unity’ marathons at organizational district levels wherein all the leaders and activists of the party participated to offer tributes to the Iron Man of India. The main programme was organized at Jammu with the active participation of BJYM where hundreds of party activists carrying National Flag participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ starting from Satwari Chowk and culminating at Press Club, Jammu.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma led the Run which also saw the participation of senior party leaders including former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former party President & former Minister Sat Sharma, State General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, Dy. Mayor Adv. Purnima Sharma, former MLA Rajesh Gupta, former MLC Vikram Randhawa, Satish Sharma and others.
BJP Leh Unit led by its President Dorjay Angchuk organised run for unity which was flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor in which students from various schools and BJP workers participated.
Manavadhikar National Party J&K gave rich tributes to Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary.
To commemorate the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas a pledge ceremony was held wherein J&K Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam and Administrative Secretaries took pledge at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar to dedicate themselves and their services to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary and the Administrative Secretaries remembered the exemplary services and contribution rendered by Sardar Vallaibhai Patel for the nation.
DC Samba Rohit Khajuria flagged off on Thursday flagged off ‘Run for Unity’ to commemorate 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Senior Superintended of Police, Shakti Pathak along with others was also present on the occasion wherein a large number of people including school children, sports persons and others participated. To commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla flagged off ‘Run for Unity’. Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh, ASP, Rajinder Katoch and other officers were also present on this occasion.
Likewise, different Sub Divisions, Tehsil Headquarters, Education Institutions, Health & Anganwari Centers of the district also observed National Unity Day by administering pledge to spread the message of unity among the masses.
National Unity Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at district headquarters Reasi. Students from 14 local schools, Government Degree College Reasi and Government Polytechnic College took part in Run for Unity. Later on pledge ceremony was held and all pledged to maintain the unity of the nation. The pledge was administered by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib.
On the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’, Run for Unity was organised by ‘Fire & Fury’ Corps in Leh & Kargil under the banner ‘Ek Daud Desh Ke Naam’. Local veterans, school children and other volunteers participated in the event and the run was flagged off by Lieutenant General, Harinder Singh, General Officer Commanding, ‘Fire & Fury’ Corps.
On the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ‘Run for Unity’ was organised by the 89th Battalion of BSF manning Indo-Pak border in Kanhachak sector. About 150 runners took part in the marathon. Ex MLA Choudhury Sukhnandan was the chief guest wherein he along with Commandant 89bn BSF Pardeep Kumar distributed prizes among the winners and participants of the Run.
37th Bn of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) organised ‘Run for Unity’ in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh at ITBP campus Choglamsar Leh.
On the birth anniversary of first Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, various Battalions of CRPF celebrated National Integration Day. In a programme at CRPF Group Centre Bantalab, Nitu, DIG CRPF apprised Officers, Jawans as well as teacher of Kendriya Vidyalay Bantalab about the importance of this day. She also administered pledge of national unity and integrity to all those present in the programme. A ‘Road March’ was also held.
At Sidhra based 166 Bn CRPF, Prem Chandra Gupta, Commandant administered the pledge of national unity and integrity to all the officers and other personnel of the unit.
Jammu and Kashmir Police today observed National Unity Day across J&K. The main function was held at Armed Police complex Zewan where DGP J&K, Dilbag Singh took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the police officers and Jawans.
ADGsP Dr. B. Srinivas, A.K Choudhary, Abdul Ghani Mir, IGsP Vijay Kumar, Anand Jain and a galaxy of commandants and police officers of different wings of J&K Police and their families were also present on the occasion.
Similar functions were organized at every district Headquarters, Armed/IR Battalion Headquarters. The day was also observed by all the Wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
At Police Control Room Kashmir, the march past and pledge taking ceremony was held. SSP PCR took the salute and led police personnel in pledge taking ceremony.
At District Police Lines Srinagar SSP Srinagar took the salute of Parade. He also highlighted the vision and dedication of Sardar Vallabh Patel in uniting the country.
In Anantnag the march past and pledge ceremony was held at District Police Lines to mark the day. SSP Anantnag took the salute and led its jurisdictional officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
A run for unity was organized by J&K Police in Kulgam in which students and police personnel participated. The run was flagged off by SSP Kulgam. The run was followed by the pledge taking ceremony.
To mark the event, Pulwama Police organized a ‘Run for Unity’ wherein DC Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langer accompanied with SP Pulwama Chandan Kohli flagged off the run from DPL Pulwama.
In Budgam, the event was observed at DPL Budgam. A colourful march past was held by different contingents of Police. A pledge taking ceremony was also held in which senior police officers and Jawans participated and took pledge for protecting the unity of the nation.
At Awantipora, the march past and pledge ceremony was organized at District Police Lines. SSP Awantipora took the salute and led police personnel in pledge taking ceremony.
At Shopian, the event was observed at District Police Lines in the form of march past and pledge taking ceremony. SSP Shopian led Police personnel in pledge taking ceremony and also took the salute during the march past.
At Sopore, besides march past and pledge taking ceremony was also held at District Police Lines. Run for unity in collaboration with civil administration was also organized to mark the occasion.
In Rajouri Police held march past and pledge taking ceremony at District Police Lines. SSP Rajouri took the salute and also led the officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
In Kathua, the main function was organized at District Police Lines where the contingents of Police personnel took part in a colorful march past. SSP Kathua took the salute and led officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony. Apart from this, pledge taking ceremonies were also held at Police Station levels in the district.
In Samba, Police in collaboration with Civil Administration organized Run for Unity. Police personnel, officers and officials of civil administration and people from different cross-sections of the society participated in the run and took the pledge for protecting unity and integrity of the country.
At District Police Lines Udhampur, the SSP Udhampur took salute and led its officers/Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
A colourful march past was held at District Police Lines Bandipora. SSP Bandipore took the salute and also led jurisdictional officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
In Baramulla, the occasion was observed at DPL where different contingents of JK Police participated in the march past. The march past was followed by the pledge taking ceremony. SSP Baramulla led the officers and officials in pledge taking ceremony. He also took the salute on the march past.
At Handwara the Day was observed at DPL Handwara where besides ceremonial march past, pledge taking ceremony was also conducted. SSP Handwara took the salute of the march past and also led its jurisdictional officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
In Ganderbal, the march past and pledge taking ceremony was conducted at DPL Ganderbal to mark the occasion. The Police officers and official took the pledge for protecting the unity and integrity of the county.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was also held in different battalions headquarters/police offices across Jammu and Kashmir
Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas wherein Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, Director SKPA Udhampur took the salute of general parade. He read the pledge to the service of nation, which was loudly reciprocated by the parade contingents, staff, trainees and gathering as well.
GRP Katra commemorated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel by celebrating ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ and reinforced dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation by taking pledge. On this occasion, a ‘Run for Unity’ was also held.
In connection with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, a pledge taking ceremony was organized at Battalion Headquarters IRP 16th Battalion Ramban to pay homage to Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel.
IIM Sirmaur celebrated ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ by organizing ‘UDVEG – Unity Run 2019’ under the slogan ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Unity Run was flagged off by Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur in which students, faculty and staff of IIM Sirmaur, students of colleges and schools of Paonta Sahib and civil society members participated.
Prof. Rohmetra also participated and completed the entire 4.5 km stretch. Before the start of the marathon, ‘National Unity Day Pledge’ was administered by the student representatives to all those present on the occasion. The function concluded with prize distribution wherein Pankaj Kumar stood first in the marathon, followed by Achhar Singh and Banti Kumar securing second and third position respectively.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu celebrated National Unity Day with great zeal and fervour. IIM Jammu organized a ‘Run for Unity’ which saw enthusiastic participation from the students and the staff members.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra organized ‘Run for Unity’ to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 144th birth anniversary. Winners of the Run were awarded with medals by Dr. Anil Kumar Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy & Culture; Surinder Kumar, Security Officer and Sucha Singh, Sports Coach.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated by NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) R.S Pura wherein a pledge taking ceremony was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sunita Sudan, GDC Principal and supervision of Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. All the staff members and students pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Government Gandhi Memorial Science College celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas wherein the students, NSS volunteers and NCC cadets took pledge in the presence of Principal Dr Kaushal Smotra and Vice-Principal, Dr Mohinder Singh.
GDC Basohli celebrated National Unity Day wherein a symposium was organized on the topic ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat’. Tributes were paid to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his 144th birth anniversary. A pledge was taken by the staff and students.
NSS Wing of Government PG College Rajouri celebrated the 144th birth anniversary of S. Vallabhai Thaverbhai Patel as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’. The programme was presided over by Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina, College Principal who motivated the students to inculcate values of S. Vallabhai Patel.
Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as ‘Ekta Diwas’ and a debate competition was organized. First prize was given to Jimmy Chandel, second to Aarti and third to Priya Manhas while consolation prize was shared by Kajal and Tania. Students from M.Ed spoke on the life events of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to mark birth anniversary of Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel was celebrated at GDC for Women, Kathua with great zeal and enthusiasm. GDC Principal, Prof. R.S Jamwal presided over the function. The celebration started with paying of floral tributes to Sardar Patel followed by a symposium on the topic ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat.’

To pay tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated by the staff and students of GD Goenka Public School. National Anthem was also recited on this occasion.
On National Unity Day ‘Run for Unity’ was held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani in collaboration with Singh Youth Club and Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri.
MPS Barnoti celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Nationalist Student Congress (NSC)-student wing of NCP paid rich tributes to Iron Man of India, Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary. While addressing the students, NCP Student Wing National Executive Council Member and Spokesperson, Rishi Kaul Kilam said that Vallabhbhai Patel played a key role to unite the nation after independence.
Education Department in Udhampur in collaboration with district administration organized ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Activities like pledge taking ceremony, essay, debate, quiz and ‘Run for Unity’ were held.
Jammu and Kashmir Academy for Art, Culture and Languages celebrated the birthday of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as Ekta Diwas with the performances of traditional folk dance Kud at Railway Station Jammu, Satwari Chowk, Kala Kendra and Bikram Chowk. Folk parties who performed included Mukhtiar Singh and Party (Sujjandhar) and Khem Raj and Party (Panjar) Panchairi.
A pledge for unity, integrity and security of the nation was administrated to officers and officials of Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu by Director Agriculture, P.S Rathore on the occasion of National Unity Day to celebrated the 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2019 was celebrated at Ramban to commemorate 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. In this regard a ‘Run for Unity’ was organised by the Education, Youth Services and Sports Departments besides Police Department which was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan. SSP, Ramban, Anita Sharma, ADDC, Nawab Din, ADC, Ashok Sharma, ACR, Harbans Lal various officers of police and civil administration besides large number of people from all walks of life participated.
On the occasion of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ as many as 400 people including students from different schools of Srinagar participated in ‘Run for Unity’ held in Srinagar. Organized by Youth Services and Sports, the run was flagged off by the Secretary, YS&S, Sarmad Hafeez from SKICC Srinagar. District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, DG YS&S, J&K, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, JD YS&S Kashmir Bashir Ahmad and other officers and officials of YS&S were present on the occasion.
On birth anniversary Sadar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Nehru Yuva Kendra Leh organised run for unity at Kendra Vidhyalaya School Chogalsamsar where 400 runners including KV students and NYK volunteers participated. The participants also took pledge to strengthen unity and brotherhood among different communities.
