RBI organizes Town Hall Meeting

JAMMU, Oct 31: The office of Banking Ombudsman, RBI, Jammu organized Town Hall Meeting for customer protection here last evening for education and awareness of customers of banks, non-banking finance companies and pre-paid instruments-wallet holders.
The meeting was convened by P Shimrah Banking Ombudsman, J&K and chaired by D Sethy Chief General Manager, Customer Education and Protection Department, RBI central office, Mumbai. The Senior officers of the Bank, Nodal Officers (Complaints) of banks, and customers of different banks were present during the meeting.
The chairman apprised the participants about various initiatives being undertaken by RBI in the interest of depositors and to protect and safe guard the customer’s right. The Banking Ombudsman gave brief insight to the participants about work done by office of Banking Ombudsman in meeting objective of customer’s grievances redressal in cost free, expeditious and fair manner.
The Secretary to Banking Ombudsman HS Verma briefed the participants about Banking Ombudsman Scheme and made them aware about precautions to be taken while carrying out banking transactions through debit/credit card and also, advised them to visit RBI website https://cms.rbi.org.in. for further details.
The meeting was concluded with the interactive session where customers cleared their doubts related to banking services.
