SKUAST-TAJ discusses issues of teachers

JAMMU, Nov 1: The executive meeting of SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) was held under the chairmanship of its President, Dr Vikas for discussion on the agendas pertaining to the teachers.
In the meeting, Dr Vikas announced that the Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) appointed in KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu in pay band of Rs 15600-39100/- with grade pay Rs 5400/- have been granted academic pay grade of Rs 6000 instead of Rs 5400 and very soon Programme Assistants of KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu will also be granted academic pay grade of Rs 6000.
The advisor of Teaching Association, Dr R K Samnotra expressed concern over delay in the promotion of teachers from AGP Rs 8000 to Rs 9000, who have completed 12 years of service with Ph D degree as the scheme has already been approved by Board of Management of SKUAST-Jammu at its 27th meeting held on February 11, 2017 and University Council of SKUAST-Jammu in its 16th meeting held on April 17, 2017. The scheme got assent by the Chancellor vide No. GS-1(Amend-AUJ / 2012-17 /3282 dated 11.7.2017 and then the scheme was notified by Vice Chancellor vide notification No.16 Secy. of 2017 dated 19.7.2017. The house opined that administration should immediately call applications and conduct interviews of such candidates. The house also showed stressed for the speedy disposal of all the pending CAS cases of teachers / scientists of SKUAST-Jammu.
President SKUAST-TAJ, Dr Vikas informed the house that the VC has already been appraised about these issues and he has assured to solve these agendas as soon as possible.
