12th Jammu District Athletic C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 3: Two days 12th Jammu District Athletic Championship in U-14, U-16, U-20 and Senior categories for both boys and girls concluded at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar here.
On the valedictory function, Rajan Sharma, Former Divisional Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council awarded the winners with prizes, medals and certificates along with SS Gill President JDAA, Vinod Bhatia General Secretary JDAA and other dignitaries.
Among others present were Nirmal Singh, Harbans Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Rajesh Sharma and Nisha Sharma.
Around 150 athletes from different schools and clubs from Jammu District are participating in this championship.
In U-14 100 meters (boys), Ritik, Harsimranjeet Singh and Nitin Bovria bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Arpita, Madyha and Manyata clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 600 meters (boys), Harsimranjeet Singh, Tahir Rashid and Rudra Dev Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Parul Sharma, Madiha Bhat and Simran Choudhary clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 Long Jump (boys), Tanveer, Tahir and Imar Shafi bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Vani Saini and Pranvi Gupta clinched first and second positions respectively.
In U-14 Shotput, Ujjwal Verma, Ashpreet Singh and Divjot Singh clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 100 meter (boys), Akashdeep Singh, Puniya Raina and Akhil Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Simranjeet Kour, Sidhani Singh and Mamta Choudhary clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 200 meters (boys), Harshit Mishra, Kashish Khajuria and Sunil Kumar bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls category, Malika, Garima and Simran clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 400 meters (boys), Vishal Choudhary, Akhil Singh and Aniket Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-16 1000 meters (boys), Aniket Singh and Sulakshaya Singh bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 Long Jump (boys), Akhil Singh, Sulakshya Singh and Shivang Salgotra bagged first, second and third positions respectively, while Simranjeet Kour, Jhanvi Majotra and Simran Verma bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 Shotput (boys), Anshjot Singh, Kartik Sangral and Shahnaz Ahmed bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
