RAJOURI, Mar 15: Excise sleuths seized 250 liters illicit liquor and 650 kg `lahan’ and arrested four persons during raids at several villages in the area today.
An official spokesman said that a team from Excise Department Rajouri led by Inspector, Sajjad Majid under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer, Rajouri-Poonch Range Salam conducted series of raids at village Bravi, Bagnoti, Narian, Patrara, Lam, Jhangar, Dalhori, Narsingh Pura, Dangri, Dhani Dhar, Argi, Chingus, Potha, Soghat, Sanchal, Grati and Nanyal and seized 250 lts of illicit liquor. Nearly 650 kg of lahan was also seized and later destroyed on the spot.
The raiding Excise team also destroyed four working stills during operation. Four persons arrested in this connection were identified as Ranjeet Singh, son of Babu Lal of village Bravi in Nowshera, Rajeev Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Bagnoti, Parshotam Lal, son of Jagdish Raj and Ravi Kumar, son of Tej Ram, residents of Narian in tehsil Nowshera.
