JAMMU, Nov 6: Income Tax Department today conducted surveys in three business establishments in Kathua and impounded incriminating documents.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that a team of the Income Tax Department conducted simultaneous surveys in a hot mix plant and stone crusher owned by Sarveshwar Sharma and wholesale garments store of Sant Ram Gupta in Kathua.
From all these establishments, the IT sleuths recovered incriminating documents, the preliminary scrutiny of which revealed concealment of income and fudging of accounts book to evade tax.
“Detailed scrutiny of documents will take some and further action will be taken thereafter”, sources said.
