SRINAGAR, Mar 17: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today asked the people and traders to extend their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for maintaining peace and tranquillity in the Valley.
The Minister said that peace is pre-requisite for the development and prosperity of the State, adding that people’s cooperation is vital in this regard besides it is responsibility of one and all to contribute best efforts for the restoration besides to build up healthy atmosphere for the better inflow of tourists in the Valley.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing to a large number of deputations from various parts of the Valley who put forth their demands before the Minister today.
Mr. Sagar assured the deputationists that he would redress all the issues on priority basis, maintaining that the main concern of the Government is to lead the State to touch new heights of prosperity and development.
The Minister said that people especially living in Shar-i-Khas have faced lot of problems and Government is committed to bring them out of this situation and redress their grievances.
Later, the Minister had a meeting with officers of various departments and took stock of the progress and pace of various ongoing projects in various areas of Srinagar including the works being executed on Dastageer Sahib Shrine, extension of road, besides construction of auditorium and car parking at Naqasband Sahib Khawaja Bazar area.
He stressed upon the concerned officers and executing agencies to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace on all ongoing works to ensure completion in a stipulated time. He directed them to use quality material in execution of the works.
