Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua organises folk dance competition

KATHUA, Nov 23: With an aim of honing the dancing skills of the students and to inculcate the cultural ethos under the aegis of Jammu Sahodya, an Interschool folk dance competition was organized by Jammu Sanskrit School, here.
Ganshyam Singh, Additional DC Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion,
Aruna Sharma (District Education Planning Officer) was the guest of honour and Nirmal Mahana (President of Jammu Sahodaya) was the special guest.
Arjun Hans (JRF, Department of Finance, Jammu University) and US Liza (JRF, Department of English, Jammu University) were the Jury members.
Students from various schools exhibited their immense potential and the rich diverse cultural heritage of India.
Plethora of dynamic folk dances of different states of India such as Rajsthani, Dogri, Haryanvi, Lavni, Bhangra, Gidda and so on was put forth by the young and talented students of different schools of Jammu Sahodaya School Complex.
The prizes were bagged by Sai International School, Hiranagar and Army Public School Akhnoor.
Ganshyam Singh lauded the efforts of the host school under the flagship of Jammu Sahodaya for having given a stage to students from different schools to showcase rich folk culture of India by their amazing dance performances.
Nirmal Mahana, President Jammu Sahodaya congratulated the participants and was spell bound with the level of confidence among students.
She also presented vote of thanks.
