BVP conducts ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ Quiz Competition

JAMMU, Nov 24: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) J&K Prant in collaboration with Institution of Engineers (India) today conducted ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ Quiz Competition at Institution of Engineers (India) local centre, here.
On this occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Muncipal Corporation was the chief guest on the occasion, while Neena Gupta, Corporator, Ward No-50, JMC was the guest of honour.
The program was presided over by SK Wadhwa, National Vice President and Sushil Sharma, National Secretary was observer.
Arun Sharma, Regional Secretary, Sanskars and Er CP Sharma, Honorary Secretary were the special invitees.
The program commenced with lightening of traditional lamp followed by Vande Mataram.
TC Taggar started the proceedings of the programme and Amita Sharma welcomed the dignitaries and audience.
The quiz was conducted on the topics on Religion, Culture, History AND Geography in Junior and Senior categories as per rules and regulations of the competition at par with other States.
16 teams in Junior category and Senior category participated but seven teams in each category qualified for the final competition.
The competition was neck to neck and two positions were decided in tie breaker in Junior category of the competition.
In Junior category, Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Sainik Colony bagged 1st position.
In Senior Category, New Era and Sai Shyam Public School got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Chander Mohan Gupta praised Bharat Vikas parishad for involving youth through such competitions for overall development of the children and also appreciated the role of the organization in developing ‘sanskars’ among children.
Prominent among others who were also present on this occasion were SN Sharma, VP Gupta, Vijay Sharma, Madhu Gupta, Vanita Kohli, Bhupal Datta, Yuvraj Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Gopal Gupta and many others from various branches of BVP.
Besides, number of teachers from various schools, children from host school, citizens’ from all walks of life witnessed this competition.
The programme concluded with National Anthem.

Jyotsna Sharma and Er Gopal Sharma jointly conducted the quiz with the sole cooperation of Technical team of Institution of engineers.
