Educational Institutions celebrate NCC Raising Day

JAMMU, Nov 25: Various Educational Institutions celebrated NCC Raising Day with zeal and zest here today.
NCC Cadets of Boys Wing J&K 2nd Battalion Commanded by Col Sukhbir Singh Assia celebrated NCC Raising Day with pomp and show today. NCC Cadets visited Blind School Roopnagar, where they interacted with the inmates of the School. The cadets also visited Old Age Home Amphalla and distributed eatables among the inhabitants.
The activities were conducted under the leadership of Principal, GDC Mishriwala, Prof Rita Bhagat, Vijay Kumar Rukwal and Kusha Sharma, while the cadets who took part in all the activites included Neeraj Kumar, Aditya Parihar, Anuj, Manjeet and Abhishek.
73 NCC Cadets of 2nd J&K Bn along with the ANOs under the guidance of Principal APS BD Bari, conducted series of events during the NCC Day Celebration Week which concluded today. Cadets took out a rally in the adopted village ‘Smailpur’ and interacted with the villagers. They performed Nukkad Natak on ‘Dowry’ and ‘Female Foeticide’.
2 J&K Girl BN NCC of GDC, RS Pura organized Painting and Essay Writing Competition to celebrate NCC Day, under the guidance of Principal Dr Sunita Sudan and supervision of Lt Shaveta Chowdhary, NCC ANO. The painting competition was organized on the topic “NCC as a way of life” where as Essay writing competition was organized on the topic “How NCC has contributed to your Life”. Cadet Riya Sharma of Semester I was adjudged best in Painting Competition whereas Cadet Tavleen Kour bagged the best essay written on the said topic.
Army Public School Kaluchak celebrated NCC Week with great fervour, zest and enthusiasm. In order to commemorate its inception, a myriad of activities were organized in the school campus under the aegis of Principal Hem Lata Vishen by virtue of which the zealous NCC cadets transformed the ambience of the school to stir a feeling of pride and patriotic fervour in every heart.
The week-long NCC celebration kick started with some awareness rallies based on the importance of following Traffic rules and regulations. The celebration culminated with the NCC song.

NCC Raising Day was celebrated at Govt HSS (Boys) Doda in which NCC Cadets, Principal and staff of the school took part.
Majid Ali, Teacher In-charge NCC Unit Junior Cadre threw light on the objectives associated with the NCC and its activities.
The Cadets pledged to provide assistance to blind children, orphans, traffic control, besides pledging for anti dowry and anti female foeticide.
The whole range of activities was performed under the guidance and control of Rajnesh Partap, Officer Commanding NCC Unit Bhaderwah.
NCC Day was celebrated by Senior Wing/Senior Division cadets of Government Degree College Kishtwar. On the occasion, Prof Pawan Kumar Sharma, Principal Government Degree College Kishtwar was the chief guest. The programme started with the hoisting of the National Flag, which was followed by the NCC song, Patriotic songs and National Anthem sung by the students. Prof Sharma, Lt. Satish Thakur, Associate NCC Officer (SD) and Madhu Bala CTO (SW) addressed the cadets.
The programme concluded with Prize Distribution ceremony.
