JAMMU, Nov 25: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has termed the abrogation of Article 370 a total mockery with the people belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the State as the Government has failed to implement the Central law with regard to Mandal Commission granting 27 percent reservation to OBCs.
In a statement issued here, today, the Union said a hope had generated among the lakhs of OBCs in the Jammu and Kashmir that their long pending demand of 27 percent reservations will be fulfilled but it appears that Government is not going to change the law in this regard with the result the OBCs will continue to be subjected to injustice.
The Union said as per the bill for Abrogation of Article 370 and as per the statement of MoS in PMO
Dr Jitendra Singh in the Lok Sabha that reservation in J&K-UT will continue as per 2004 Act and that too after the abrogation of Art 370, indicates the intensions of the Government and it is also a mockery with abrogation of Article 370.
All reservation rules and Act of 2004 made by Kashmiri leaders were aimed at infringement of Constitutional rights of OBCs called (OSCs). When these laws have been also implemented after the abrogation of Article 370 it only reflects that Abrogation of Art370 has been done with the mutual understanding of PM Modi and his BJP leaders in the State who were earlier in Government with PDP. The Union said after the Abrogation of Art 370 all Central rules and Acts must have entered the newly carved out J&K-UT like the other UTs in the country. It would have changed the OSCs status to OBCs with 27% reservation. Protecting previous reservation acts and rules along with the protection of unholy State Commission for Backward Classes, is the mockery, it added.
The Union said abrogation of Article 370 in J&K is a false propaganda where nothing has changed except the sign boards. It said the provisions of Indian Constitution have failed to enter the State even after abrogation of Article 370 and the propaganda of BJP regarding celebrating the Savidhan Divas (Constitution Day) is nothing but to befool the people, it added.
