POONCH, Dec 1: 2nd District Taekwondo Champio-nship organised by Poonch District Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association and supported by Har Vandana Welfare Society Poonch concluded at Christ School Poonch, here today.
Over 200 players from Different Taekwondo Clubs, Academic and Institutions participated in this Championship.
Rahul Yadav, District Development Commissioner Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ramesh Angral, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch; Sandhya Gupta, Chairperson WCMP; Padamshree Shambunath Khajuria and Yougal Kishore ARTO Poonch were the guests of honour.
Prof Fateh Mohd Abassi, (Advisor PDTA); Father Mathew, Principal Christ School Poonch; S Tajinder Singh, Principal GDC Poonch and Nirdosh Kumar, I/C Manager Sports Stadium Poonch were the special guests.
Rajinder Singh, Chairman Poonch District Taekwondo Association presented welcome address.
The dignitaries distributed medals and trophies among the players on the occasion.
The gold medal winners included Vishvas Sudan, Karan Bharghav, Vishnu Raina, Khalida Jabeen, Mohd Ateek, Jessica Singh , Aaliza Sehar, Manpreet Kaur, Garvin Gupta, Prakriti Sharma, Kasmesh Sharma, Hanan Haider, Akarshit Sudan and Ashaq Hussain, while the silver medals went to Nimesh Sharma, Aaradhya, Himanshi, Jaskiran, Tamanpreet, Rama-npreet, Sajid Choudhary, Niaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sawhney.
Vishnu Raina was adjudged as the best player in sub junior boys, while in mini group, Krishna Du was named as the best player and Aaliza Sehar was declared as the best player in sub junior girls’ category.
Jessica Singh was adjudged as the best female player in cadet category, while Ashiq Hussain was declared as the best player in senior category.
