JAMMU, Dec 1: To ease the problems of people faced by them due to exorbitant hike in prices of onion, Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir Unit, today distributed onion in Jammu at Rs 40 per kg. Party J&K president, Manish Sahni lashed out at the Government over the skyrocketing prices of onions and said that the work that the Government should do is being done by the Shiv Sena.

Sahni accused the Lieutenant Governor of J&K and the Central Government for neglecting unbridled prices of onions. He said that when prices needed to be monitored, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was busy for campaigning in Haryana and Maharashtra. The result of the negligent attitude of the Central Government is that about 50,000 tons of onions were buried in the godowns. Sahni said that the Girish Chandra Murmu, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir also talks about the holding of Assembly elections soon, but the business class and general shopkeepers of Jammu and Kashmir who do not see any strategy for relief from inflation and heavy economic recession. The Government continues to be indifferent towards internet restoration. Sahni said that the Shiv Sena, while playing the responsibility of the Government, has tried to provide some relief to the public by distributing onions at almost the half price.
He said that Shiv Sena will make onions available to the public twice a week at about half price. On this occasion, president Women Unit Meenakashi Chhibber, working president Ashwini Gupta, general secretary, Vikas Bakshi, JI Singh, Rakesh Gupta, secretary Raj Singh, Baldev Singh, Arjun, joint secretary Praveen Gupta, Raju Chaudhary, Rakesh Handa, Tilak Shan, Sanjeev Sudan, many leaders and activists including Champa Devi, Bhangu Ram, Bhuri Singh and many others were present.
