JAMMU, Dec 2: AgriFest-2019 (KAIROS- Season 3), a four- day annual college festival began today at Faculty of Agriculture of SKUAST-Jammu.
The fest was inaugurated by Dr K S Risam, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, who was chief guest of the programme. In his inaugural address, Dr Risam highlighted the importance of cultural events in the life of students and stressed that such activities should be carried out every year to boost the talent of the students by way of participating in extra -co curricular activities and build self confidence.
Dr D P Abrol, Chairman of the organizing committee and Dean Faculty of Agriculture, emphasized that more and more students should participate in such types of fests and should showcase the rich cultural heritage and diversity.
Dr T A S Ganai, Director Education discussed about the importance of such events in student life. Dr Parshant Bakshi, Chairman Management Committee, Dr Arvinder Singh, Organizing Secretary and Ali Haider Shah, Joint Organizing Secretary of the event also applauded the keen efforts of the students in such events.
Besides all the Statutory Officers, Heads, UG/ PG Students, the inaugural session was attended by Dr Deepak Kher (Director Planning), Dr S E H Rizvi (Dean Basic Sciences), Dr M M S Zama (Dean Vetrenary Sciences), Rajesh Talwar, (Registrar), Dr S K Gupta (Librarian), Zamir-ul Haq, (Adm Officer) and President Teaching Association SKUAST-J Dr Vikas Sharma.
