JAMMU, Mar 19: In continuation to the initiatives taken up by Training and Placement Cell IMS in broadening the academic horizon and augmenting intellectual capital of its students, series of extension lectures were organized in Institute of Management Sciences, here.
The resource persons included Daleep Tikku, senior vice president, Uflex, Prof Lalit Sen, University of Jammu, Arimardan Singh, Regional Head Su-Kam, Manish Anand, Branch Head Su-Kam, Sarbpreet Singh and Paramjeet Singh, Relianc Securities, Basharat Hussain from ITC Ltd, Manish Singh from Microsoft IT Academy and Sumit Kakkar, Marketing Head, Reliance Communications.
Daleep Tikku besides discussing Industrial Relations also spoke at length on various parameters, recruiters look out for in interviews. Marketing Heads drawn from Corporate said that there should be more focus on skills rather than cognitive understanding of domain.
They further said, while education provides a basic framework to students, they still need to invest time and effort in acquiring these skill sets in relevance to what Industry demands.
