JAMMU, Dec 8: Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), NHPC Limited Bal Raj Joshi, Chairman, Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL), Suresh Kumar and MD, CVPPL M S Babu visited Pakal Dul, Kiru, Kwar Hydro Electric Projects and Dulhasti Power Station and reviewed their progress.
Angrej Singh Rana, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar and Harmeet Singh, SSP Kishtwar, also accompanied them. Joshi inaugurated the office complex of Power House of Pakal Dul HE Project. Besides, 20 mattresses were handed over to District Hospital, Kishtwar under CSR-CD initiatives of Pakal Dul HE Project.
During their visit, Joshi and Suresh Kumar met with the senior officers of the Company and reviewed the progress of the Projects. The MD CVPPL apprised them about progress of major construction works of Power House and Dam of 1000 MW Pakal Dul HE Project.
They were told that the construction of Pakal Dul HE Project was started in the year 2018 and is to be completed in 66 months with an estimated cost of Rs 8112.12 Crores. “The major work packages of Kiru HE Project are ready for award awaiting approval while all the work packages of Kwar HE Projects are under different stages of tendering,” they added.
Addressing the employees at CVPPL, Joshi said that Pakal Dul HE Project once completed is going to benefit the J&K in many ways. He said Pakal Dul HE Project is of National importance and is covered under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for J&K. He stressed the need to achieve the desired targets and appreciated efforts of all employees working in far flung areas and tough climatic conditions.
