KATHUA, Dec 8: A lady factory worker was killed and her colleague was seriously injured when they were hit by a speedy Maruti 800 at Hatli Morh on Jammu Pathankot National Highway near, here early this morning.
As per reports, a female factory worker Shanu Devi, 45 wife of Rattan Chand of Basholi who was an employee in local factory at Hatli Morh and her colleague Ravi Kumar , 40, son of Om Parkash of Azizpur Pathankot were hit by a speedy car when they crossing the NH to reach their duty early this morning.
The lady died on spot while the male worker was seriously injured and he was shifted to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where from his family members shifted him to a private Hospital in Pathankot for specialized treatment.
The car was on way from Lakhanpur to Jammu and the driver after the accident accelerated the speed of the vehicle and fled.
The dead body of the lady worker was handed over to her family members after legal formalities by police for last rites.
The Kathua police has registered a case against the car driver under Section 279/337/304 under IPC and started manhunt to arrest him.
